Rebuilt Transmissions

If your car or truck won’t move when placed in drive or reverse you may have a transmission failure. Customers often call and ask for the cost for a transmission repair. The fact is that their car or truck may need is a rebuilt transmission.  A transmission repair is not the same as a rebuilt transmission. A transmission repair may typically consists of replacing external controls, solenoid shift pack, speed senor etc…  A quality rebuilt transmission service should consist of:

 Complete removal of the transmission

 Complete disassembly transmission

Careful inspection for cracked or damaged internal components

Replacement of all internal components which are damaged or not within factory tolerance

Replacement of all clutches, seals, and gaskets

Transmission valve body disassembly and test for proper function with possible replacement if required

Steam clean and degrease all of the reusable internal components and transmission case

Assemble the transmission using only quality OE or better replacement parts

 Replace the torque converter

 Reinstall the transmission

Fill the transmission to capacity with the OEM required fluid

Road test for to verify the performance quality

As you can see from the list of steps there is a considerable difference between a transmission repair and a quality rebuilt transmission.  Eagle Transmission of Lewisville uses only OEM quality or better parts from the supply source used by many of the transmission manufacturers.

A used transmission is not the “economical” way to fix a transmission problem. Used transmissions dry out. The fluid settles and the internal components may become rusted, dry and brittle. The used transmission may have been working when it was removed from previous car or truck, the transmission that you receive might not be the exact match for your specific vehicle and may not work in your vehicle, or worse, work for a little while then fail. The company that provides the used transmission will usually not pay for labor if their unit fails to perform properly and have specific installation requirements to validate any warranty claim.

A quality rebuilt Eagle Transmission provides the best value for the money spent. We build transmission to last!!
